About this artwork
Filler, oak frame | 8 kg
I did this work with the help of a specially conceived tool that makes it possible to draw several lines in the wet filler at the same time. This method obscures the natural flow from head to hand during the drawing process, which opens up the possibility for unexpected results. The lines that appear become peripheral to the original intention. But it is often in the periphery that more complex images can be formed because what is in the centre is usually designated by a preconceived vision.
The different lines have a fixed but equally dynamic relationship and repeat each other's movements in varying rhythmic patterns. I have tried to create a composition that both confirms and ignores the format, where the elements of the work are in balanced tension.
